I went into Chicago Hair Salon with a disaster of a haircut. I had an assymetrical style... which I have not been maintaining. I met with Whitney and explained that I'm trying to grow out my hair, and that I want to even out the cut. I am so appreciative of her attention to my concerns, and her patient approach in cutting my hair. My new style looks FANTASTIC! I'll definitely be telling all of my friends about this place!‎

I have gotten my hair done here three times.

When I wasn't too happy with the results of my second visit, I called stating I was unhappy and the owners told me to come back in so my hair dresser could touch up where needed free of charge! When I left, I was thrilled with the results just like I was the first time I ever went to this hair salon!

Meredith did my hair and she is terrific, I hope she sticks around! She was not chatty, listening to what I was saying and then adding comments that were appropriate. She is very down to earth and knows her stuff!

I am going to be making another appointment in the very near future, I feel as if I have FOUND my hair dresser!! (It's quite the challenge!)

Liz Saved my Hair!‎

have been going to LIz for about 8 or 9 years but recently I had started to lose some hair (menopause I think) and on a vacation my hair was lying flat on my head and in a moment of insanity I took scissors to it and "cut some layers"...after a 2 month odessy of trying to even it all out, I was almost there! It was looking pretty darn good but there were some pieces in the back I couldn't quite reach and I didn't want Liz to see it unless it was a bit more presentable. So I thought I'd go to someone else just to get it evened out a bit. I got a recommendation from a friend who told me that her guy was "fabulous". I made an appointment and explained to him that the general shape and length was perfect but I just wanted some of the back parts evened out a bit and he agreed telling me that he would have to do very little. He proceeded to hack of INCHES of my hair ALL over my head leaving holes and talls and ridges! He blew it dry very very big - like Tina Turner (probalby to try to hide his hack job?).. I did not worry too much because frankly everyone who styles my hair makes it too big for my taste! It cost me $40 plus tip (he was a VERY nice man and had spent a lot of time on the phone with me and at the salon so I felt I had to tip him and at that point I was still not totally aware of what he had done. I went home to wet and restyle my hair as is my normal routine after a new cut...This time I had to wash it as well because he put some waxy stuff in it and it was awful. To my horror I could not FIX it..the holes and tails and ridges prevailed...the next day my coworkers laughed at my hair cut! They tried to console me but I was inconsolable. I couldn't put it up or in a ponytail even! In desperation I wrote an email to Liz after BEGGING the receptionist for her email address...I explained what had happened and begged her forgiveness for straying and pleading for her to fix me if she could! I was mortified. Liz's response was wonderfully kind (just like Liz) and reassuring (just like Liz). She said I should make an appointment and come in so she could assess and hopefully repair the damage...she also told me to NEVER be embarrassed to talk to her or show her my hair. I immediately called the salon and to my DELIGHT Liz had a cancellation the NEXT DAY!!! I jumped on the appointment telling my boss and co-workers I was taking 1/2 day off of work. I only had to live with the tail for one more day! The next day Liz assessed the damage which was "not as bad" as she expected but she did concur that it was a dreadful haircut (some of the pieces looked like gears!). She worked some kind of magic and the tail is gone as are most of the holes. I can not say I LIKE the cut because there are still some places that were NOT fixable and will just have to grow out and I'm not used to such short hair and I'm still learning how to work with it BUT I am convinced that Liz did the MOST with this disastrous cut that could possibly have been done. I can sleep again and at least make it look presentable...I have even gotten a couple of compliments on it. I will never go anywhere again and I hope that Liz and Chicago Hair are around until I am a bald old lady in a nursing home and do not need them anymore! (and since I am almost 60 that's not going to be THAT much longer!) Thank you Liz for your wonderful cuts, colors, and outstanding hair products (people always ask me how I get my hair so soft and I tell them I use Bumble and Bumble. P.S. Liz's cut and style was only $15 more than the HACK JOB and worth a million bucks to me! Pros: QUALITY - KEEPS UP WITH LATEST TRENDS - EXCELLENT PRODUCTS Cons: Too far away-will you consider moving to Longmon?LOL

I went into your salon yesterday, last minute decision, because my hair which was growing was absolutely horrible to manage and I couldn't seem to be able to do anything decent with it anymore, except for the great style in the back. I unfortunately cannot remember my hairstylist's name (long blond hair, very sweet and patient) but she is AMAZING!

I was not able to describe exactly what I wanted except that I needed something more "playful & fun" in the front, easier to manage (styled or not!) and then showed her a picture of Meg Ryan with short hair to giver her an idea.

No kidding, I still look in the mirror this morning and can't believe it, she did my hair exactly as I showed her!! That, is talent :) I played with it once I got home and it is very very cool :) I LOVE it and that's what i was looking for for months and finally she made it happen for me! I even look cute straight out of bed which has not been a reality since I cut my hair short!! haha

So THANK YOU so very much!!!! Wish I had been able to give a bigger tip however, financial times are really rough right now, but the thought was there for sure :)

Thank you for my great curls! I love my hair again thanks to you guys. I love the color, the shine, the cut, and the ease of styling from your cut and color.

David said my hair would be in better condition after coloring. It is. The color is the perfect honey color that I've been asking for-but no one could deliver. I love that there is NO RED cast and my hair is shiny and soft.

I was impressed with David's knowledge of curly hair. He gave me a cut that works for my face shape, my hair, and my lifestyle. My hair looks great right out of the shower. He gave me options for styling too, so when I want to rock my curls I can go wild.

Thank you David. No matter where I went before, no matter how much I paid, no matter how much I explained-I never got what I wanted. I was tired of paying for services and always being sort of disappointed. It feels great to know my hair looks the best it can look.

I like that David worked with what my hair does naturally. He cut it to complement how my hair falls, so styling is easy. He also adjusted my color without redoing my whole head. It saved a lot of wear and tear on my hair.

This Salon is on the cutting edge-hee hee- of what is current. They have experience, but is coupled with the latest info. This is the best haircut I have had in over 15 years.

Thank you!!! It's nice to not have to think about my hair. Now I just think "It looks great."

I am new to the Boulder area and after trying a few other salons with not much luck, I turned to City Search to see what information I could find. Everything the previous reviewers wrote was correct and I have the best haircut I have had for quite some time. My color was in a terrible state and it is on its way to being corrected - it was so bad that it will take a few more appointments to get it just right but I have every confidence that Chicago Hair Can do it for me.

Pros: very friendly but not intrusive; knowledgeable staff and they consult freely with each other about the best way to proceed for problem hair.

I had the best time at Chicago Hair Salon. My hair dresser was Shauna and I will be going to her for a very long time. She worked around my schedule to get me in. She has done the best dye job I've ever received. (Usually I would have splotches of dye close to my scalp, and it didn't happen with her.) She was friendly, and it was like I was at home, hanging out with a friend. I don't care so much if the person is young, it is more important they give a great hair cut, which is what I received. I told her all the things I wanted and she exceeded my expectations. GREAT JOB!

After years of spending money trying to find a salon to get a great cut and color, I recently stumbled upon my new favorite place. On my first visit I was greeted by the receptionist and was able to see Shauna right away. Shauna gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever got in Boulder and the color came out even better. I highly recommend this salon to anyone who is tired of mediocre color and haircuts from other Boulder salons. Thanks Shauna and Ill be seeing you again soon!

I think everyone knows the difficulty in finding a hairstylist that can follow through in giving you what you ask for. I made an appointment atr Chicago Hair for a color and a haircut, and not only did I receive what I asked for but she suggested a change in my color that I wasn't aware was possible. I have been a medium to dark brown color but wanted a change so Shauna gave me a rich brown with subtle highlights. This alteration uplifted my appearance and made a positive change for me. I am extremely satisfied with my entire appointment and will be sure to visit Chicago Hair again.

After years of bad hair cuts from barber shops in Boulder I found Chicago Hair online. Most of the reviews were by women, but I felt very comfortable there as a man. Meredith cut my hair and did an excellent job. She was easy to communicate with, and seemed to know what kind of haircut would fit me well. This place is a little expensive, but you definitely get your money's worth in service

Meredith is one of those great hair stylist every woman hopes to find: she can see what she wants to do with your hair before she ever picks up her scissors. The results, as a woman elsewhere in the salon said when Meredith finished taking my hair from mid-back length to above my chin, is "Fabulous." And the cut she gave me is VERY low maintenance--wash it, dry it part way, shape it a bit with fingers and a brush and it is good to go. Get windblown or mashed under a hat--no problem. I can bring it right back with the brush and fingers! Give yourself a treat. Have Meredith cut your hair--and, incidentally, she is also a great colorist.

Many thanks to Meredith for a great haircut! Its a comfortable store with easy parking in the back. I wasn't pressured to buy product, but I was given a list of everything they used on me, both of which are really nice.

After many dismal experiences with other salons, a friend referred me to Chicago Hair. There I found a soothing and professional atmosphere with friendly staff. I was in need of a color touch-up and braced myself for the 'rusting scalp' outcome that every other salon gave me before getting my color right. My dark brown hair always pulls red, even when using an ash base. I was AMAZED when David got my color perfect with his first attempt. That had never happened before! He also did a fabulous job of cleaning up my cut and recommended some products that really work for my hair type. I highly recommend David and Chicago Hair.

Makes Even the Craziest Hair Look Good!

I have absolutely unruly and impossible curly hair, which I had been trying at various lengths over the year. I had it cut short about 7 years ago, and it looked awful, so I decided never to do it again. However, having long hair was getting to be a pain and I never had the time or incentive to do anything with it. Grudgingly, I decided to give short hair another try. I went to David at Chicago Hair Salon in Boulder (although I'm sure anyone there is fantastic). Not only did I get splendid, attentive service and a fabulous head massage, but I was convinced for the first time in my life that short hair can look good on me! I went in with only a few pictures of a haircut that looked vaguely like what I wanted, and explained a little bit what I was going for. 45 minutes later I came out and I had exactly what I wanted! I go to school in Boston, but I'm definitely planning on waiting until the next time I come home to Boulder to get my hair cut again.

I just got my hair cut the other day at Chicago Hair Salon in Boulder and I'm SO happy with it. I'd been to other salons and wasn't happy with my cut or color and didn't really like the atmosphere--too loud and too crazy. When I walked into Chicago Hair Salon in Boulder, it was immediately different... Laura was my stylist. She actually talked to me about what I wanted and really made sure that I was going to get what I asked for. The color is PERFECT and the cut is the most flattering cut I've had in forever!! I'm so happy with it : ) …Check them out-- you'll be really happy you did!
